Starting her career in tourism and hospitality, Kathleen worked in sales and catering with luxury brands, including Fairmont Hotels and Resorts where she worked in properties across the country, before moving into a marketing role with Maple Leaf Sports Entertainment. In 2016 she launched a consulting business where she developed brand and marketing strategies in a wide variety of industries including corporate governance, real estate, finance, and HR. Joining the Gifford Carr family in the fall of 2020, Kathleen dove headfirst into the world of insurance.
Reporting directly to the President, Kathleen oversees the brand experience and strategy as Director of Marketing at Gifford Carr Insurance Group. She is committed to creating a seamless experience for clients throughout their buyer journey – with an effort to ensure each interaction they have with the company is true to the Gifford Carr personality. As the curator of the Gifford Carr story, she is responsible for all marketing communication efforts of the firm. Leaning on her early experience in the tourism and hospitality industry where she defined her customer-centric mindset, Kathleen puts the client first. She is always thinking outside the box, looking for innovative ways to deliver technical insurance content in an approachable manner. As a marketing nerd at heart, she loves building out brand strategies, and with the wide variety of insurance solutions, partners, communities, and industries we work with, there is always a new opportunity on the horizon. With each campaign, Kathleen strives to make the language of insurance more accessible, while demonstrating the value our brokers bring to the insurance conversation.
Outside of work, you’ll find Kathleen relishing in the cottage life at the lake on weekends, on the tennis court serving up game set match after work or hitting the slopes come winter. Kathleen likes to get involved with charitable initiatives in her community, working with Rethink Breast Cancer to bring their flagship event to Ottawa in 2015. She’s a self-proclaimed Peloton addict, and she’s not sorry about it!
