Soaking Up Summer, Safely, and with Innovation #GCProtect
Newsletter V11
Summer has arrived, bringing with it a pronounced heat wave that has many Canadians seeking inventive ways to keep cool. As marinas and cottages open their doors for the season, recreational watercrafts become a prime source of enjoyment. However, amidst the fun, safety should be top of mind. The Canadian Red Cross points out that alcohol is implicated in roughly 40% of boating fatalities. This statistic is a stark reminder of the importance of sobriety and vigilance while enjoying water-based activities. Ensuring everyone’s safety means we can all continue to enjoy the pleasures of summer without unnecessary risks. If you’re out on the water this summer, you can learn to navigate the waters safely with our Essential Watercraft Tips.
On another note, Gifford Carr’s new benefits and planning division has been met with great enthusiasm. Our team has been working with the industry’s best, integrating traditional benefits with innovative solutions, such as the ability to access virtual primary care through smartphones at a user’s fingertips when needed and comprehensive wellness programs. These offerings have already significantly benefited our clients, helping them to modernize their benefits packages efficiently and attract top talent. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, validating our approach and emphasizing the difference these new services make in enhancing employee well-being. For those curious about what we offer, we encourage you to visit our Group Benefits page for further information and to connect with us.
Moreover, the energy within the GC team extends beyond the workplace. We’ve already been out and about this summer, participating in charitable events, and other community initiatives. We also recently celebrated our fourth annual professional development conference, GC Connect, where we focused on strengthening team cohesion. Our team participated in a variety of activities, such as volleyball and campfire sessions, alongside engaging seminars from noteworthy speakers to fuel our professional growth. If you see #teamGC at local events, stop by and say hello.
Looking ahead, there is still much to look forward to in the year, including some exciting projects we’re developing behind the scenes. We are pleased to announce that our very own Account Executive, Lezlie Jamieson, will be participating in this year’s Fight for the Cure. Adam Kane, our Director of Sales, is also serving as one of her coaches. We’re excited for the big event on October 26th, and we hope to see many from Ottawa celebrating such a noteworthy cause.
Here’s to enjoying the warmer weather this summer and making the rest of the year as impactful and fulfilling as the first half has been.
