Growing with Purpose: Updates from Gifford Carr

With the first signs of spring starting to show, there is a sense of new growth and new opportunity ahead. The same can be said of things happening at Gifford Carr. One of the things I find myself coming back to in conversations is how much value there is in having your insurance and financial planning connected through one team.

When our team has visibility into your full picture, the conversations are better, and the advice is stronger. If there is an area of your protection or planning that we are not currently involved in, it is always worth raising it with your advisor to see if there are opportunities worth strengthening to support the long term growth and security of your family.

Investing in our Team

As our organization grows, so does our need for strong, focused leadership. We have recently welcomed three new members in key roles. Helen Dunlop has joined as Director of Commercial Lines, Sandie Harris as Manager, National Programs and Strategy, and Jodie Lefaive as our Commercial Marketing & Placement Manager. These new additions reflect our commitment to having the right people in place to support our clients and the organization as a whole.

This May, we will come together for GC Connect, our annual professional development conference. The quality of service our clients receive starts with the people delivering it. GC Connect is one of the ways we invest in making sure our team is prepared, connected, and aligned around what matters most.

Omni One and Protecting Canadians in Florida

Many Canadians who spend extended time in the United States are carrying risk they may not fully recognize. Gaps between Canadian and American coverage, property that is underinsured for the Florida market, liability exposure that has not been properly addressed. These are common issues, and ones our Omni One Insurance Agency team in Florida is well equipped to help with. If you or someone you know splits time between Canada and the U.S., a conversation with our team is a good place to start.

Gifford Carr in the Community

Giving back to the communities we serve remains central to who we are and how we operate. Earlier this year, members of the Gifford Carr team took part in Hockey Helps the Homeless for the third consecutive year, in support of Shepherds of Good Hope. The event raised over $180,000, with all net proceeds going to support those experiencing homelessness and vulnerability in Ottawa.

In Sudbury, several of our team members spent a day supporting the Good Neighbours Valley East Food Bank. The team donated food items and spent the day assisting with food distribution. It was a chance to see firsthand the important work food banks do for our communities.

These efforts reflect something our team takes personally. Being present in the communities we serve matters to us.

Thank you for your continued trust.
