As President of Gifford Carr, Matthew is the leader of the management team. In a business where trust is imperative, he can always be counted on to ensure the needs of clients are well-served. A natural communicator, Matthew has the gift of being a strong relationship builder – with clients, partners, and staff alike.
Born and raised with the insurance industry, he has made a significant impact on the business in a remarkably short period of time, demonstrating exceptional leadership and management skills. Matthew leads by example taking the time to understand his clients priorities, goals and businesses so he can provide insurance solutions that protect what matters most to them. Since being appointed President, he has facilitated Gifford Carr’s expansion into new markets across Ontario, opening locations in Burlington, North Bay, and Sudbury. Matthew has overseen growth of the company’s executive leadership and regional teams, ensuring they are set up for success to serve their local communities.
Matthew is an active member of Boating Ontario, Greater Ottawa Home Builders’ Association, Ottawa Construction Association, Ottawa Board of Trade and he is affiliated with numerous other initiatives as a committee member. He is engrained in his local Business community, recently named one of Ottawa’s Top Forty Under Forty an award recognizing his on business accomplishments, professional experience and community involvement. Without question, Matthew is heavily immersed in the business, but he also manages to find time to relax and blow off steam – usually with a game of golf or hockey.
