We run only a few events each year. Do we need coverage for those?
Events introduce exposures that day-to-day operations do not, including third-party attendees, rented venues, and alcohol service. Some are picked up by an existing policy, and some require a separate placement, which is worth confirming before the date is set.

We depend on volunteers to deliver our programs. Are they covered?
Usually, though it depends on how the policy defines a volunteer and what the volunteer is doing. Liability arising from a volunteer’s actions and injury to the volunteer themselves are handled under separate coverages, and both are worth reviewing together.

Our board members are volunteers. Do they still need directors and officers coverage?
Yes. Directors and officers can be held personally responsible for decisions made on behalf of an organization, including employment matters, financial oversight, and regulatory compliance. Serving without pay does not remove that exposure, and in many cases personal assets are what is at stake.
