Gifford Carr Helps Raise $5,800,285 For Kids!
Author: Gifford Carr
Every year ten kids, who are receiving treatment from CHEO, for just twenty-four hours join local industry leaders and change-makers in one epic fundraising event. It’s called 24h Tremblant. Otherwise known as Quebec’s (and Ottawa’s) #1 winter sport challenge. It’s called 24h Tremblant.
It’s sport for a cause. For 24 consecutive hours, teams are either skiing, snowboarding, alpine touring, walking, running, or walking & running.
Our President, Matthew Carr, and his wife Marissa, joined team SENSations with local leaders and friends; Jeff Westeinde Westeinde Group, Vanessa and Sylvain Houle Fire-Alert, Nilufer Erdebil Spring2 Innovation, Stacey McMillan KPMG, Matthew DiCintio, and Jennifer Cross MARANT Construction, Kevin Barwi Clariti Group Inc., Michael Maidment Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation, and team leaders, James and Donna Baker Keynote Search and their son Jack. Supported by key sponsors, NewFound Recruiting, Cresa Ottawa, McCabe Promotional Advertising Inc, and generous donations from our combined network. Thank you to all who donated.
One of our fellow SENSations, Stacey McMillan, was lucky enough to meet one of these kids on the gondola, Sam. They chatted about life, school, and his holiday wishlist. And it hit home why 485 teams, 4363 individual participants, jumped on the chairlift – even for the frosty 2 AM shift – from noon on Saturday, December 10 until noon on Sunday, December 11.

As a team SENSations raised $32,125. Making SENSations the top fundraising team from the National Capital Region! The event as a whole raised $5,835,309 to fund local medical and social organizations with the ultimate goal of seeing all children flourish and lead healthy lives. The 24h Tremblant event dedicates funds raised to organizations that share in this goal: the children’s well-being.
This annual event enables the 24h Tremblant foundation to support agents of change in our local community: the Fondation Charles-Bruneau, the CHEO Foundation, and the Fondation Tremblant.
