This year has brought significant change and growth across our company as we’ve expanded our services to include a new Benefits and Planning division led by Rick Chase and welcomed 13 new team members. We’ve invested in our spaces, completing the renovation of our head office and relocating our Sudbury team to a new office, ensuring we are better equipped than ever to support our clients and our growing team. It has been an incredibly busy year for our team as we expand our footprint and services in Northern Ontario, and it would not have been possible without their dedication to client service and support of our vision.  

While I am excited to share the successes of the year, I would be remiss not to address the challenges as well.  This year was difficult as many faced significant personal or professional challenges, and our team was no different. I hope to never have to be challenged as a leader again with some of the gut-wrenching calls we endured this year.  We miss our friend Bernie especially at this time of year and will continue to support those facing headwinds as they enter 2025.  

Furthermore, the holiday season is an exciting time for many, we know just as many community members face the hardship of struggling to make ends meet and provide for their families.  Gifford Carr is deeply committed to supporting the communities we serve and giving back wherever possible. I share proudly that the Gifford Carr team was able to gather over 3,000 items to support The Ottawa Food Bank. We also contributed to The Snowsuit Fund of Ottawa, collecting snow suits to help children stay warm this winter. These initiatives reflect our shared commitment to making a difference, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve achieved together as a team. I encourage each of you to continue supporting your local community in ways that resonate with your values and passions, especially during this season of giving. 

As we take the time to reflect and recommit to aspirations for the new year, we encourage you to also reflect on your insurance and financial plans.
