Starting his insurance career in 2019, Andrew Pye joins the Gifford Carr joins the commercial lines team at Gifford Carr Insurance Group. Fun fact, Andrew is the ONLY insurance broker in Ottawa and one of the few in Ontario that races motorcycles. His experience on the track provides him with a niche understanding of motorsports events, venues, equipment, and the unique risks of the industry. Off the track, Andrew specializes in business coverage including construction, professional services, retail, and car garages.
Beyond his RIBO license, Andrew attended McMaster University and is multi-lingual, speaking English, Français (was born in Montreal!) and is learning русский and украинец.
His first job was delivering the Barrhaven Independent Newspaper. Rain, shine, snow, or hail, if you lived on his route, that paper was on your doorstep every week. His dedication to getting the job done started there. His favourite part of being an insurance broker is figuring out complex policy situations. His ability to step back and take a look at the full picture to ensure his clients are properly insured, many times securing coverage they could not find elsewhere.
For Andrew, it’s black coffee first, always. His favourite season is Spring, the bike comes out, and the hikes begin! If money were no object you would find Andrew spending his days at a racetrack on a bike or in a car running laps from sunrise to sunset.
